Storytel: Audiobooks & Ebooks – App Review

Storytel: Audiobooks & Ebooks – App Review

Parents are finding it increasingly difficult to find time to read to their children and as a result, children are losing out on the amazing world of stories. An alternative for parents being faced with such difficulties is an app like ‘Storytel’ for people of all ages, ranging from young children to adults. Let’s take a look at some of the features it offers that could benefit children. ‘Kids Mode’ allows parents to let their children use the app without worrying about exposure to age-inappropriate content.

The option of Storytel Unlimited allows for simultaneous streaming - a parent can use the app at the same time as their child uses it in Kids Mode. Storytel is a great way to incorporate more books into your child’s life; be it on long car journeys, bedtime or even when they are feeling distracted or fidgety. The offline mode allows books to be listened to even when there isn’t an active internet connection, making boredom on flights a thing of the past. Using the ‘Sleep Timer’ option, you can also choose for the book to pause based on when your child will be nodding off to sleep, once they’re warm in bed.

With a wide variety of titles on offer, in English as well as multiple Indian languages, you don’t have to limit your child’s interest to one particular genre or language.

Allow your child to experience the world of storytelling, especially with India’s rich oral tradition, by giving Storytel a try.
