BigLittlePlanet3 builds upon its previous two editions in many ways. There is an addition of new characters, each with new skills and strengths and players have the option to explore more than one character at a time during gameplay. Players are introduced to characters such as OddSock and Swoop and have the opportunity to explore new aspects of the game through them.
The basic tenets of the game remain the same. BigLittlePlanet, as a franchise, is primarily a platformer game. The emphasis of the game lies in creation – players have the chance to create levels and navigate them as they choose.
The options are endless, with a variety of actions such as swinging, jumping, grabbing, amongst others, for the players to use. The graphics and colour palettes of the game are bright, vibrant and highly appealing to children. It allows them an opportunity to think outside the box and create another world.
There are many ways in which BigLittlePlanet3 improves upon its previous versions with the addition of new characters and placing a heavier emphasis on creation. In doing so, it gives players endless options to build levels, tools, power-ups, decorations along with many more things!
